Definition: The AAFCO profile a formula is designed to satisfy: growth, maintenance, or all life stages.
Why it matters when choosing food
All-life-stages formulas must meet the stricter growth profile, which means higher calcium and phosphorus. That is appropriate for puppies but can oversupply minerals for an adult large breed. Match the claim to the dog in front of you.
